About Sahara
Sahara Adamitz is a First Nations Mezzo Soprano from Stony Plain, Alberta. Music has always been a main focus throughout Sahara’s life. Known for her “beautiful and haunting vocal work” (Opera Canada), Sahara is an emerging artist in Canada and beyond. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Lethbridge in 2021, and a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the University of Victoria in 2023. While in Victoria (2023), Sahara won the Rose Bowl Award at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival.
Sahara has performed lead roles in operas across North America, as well as in Italy. Her lead roles include Giulietta in Offenbach’s "Les Contes d’Hoffmann", Ottavia in Monteverdi’s "L’Incoronazione di Poppea", as well as the Mezzo Soprano role in Cree composer Andrew Balfour’s opera "Mishabooz’s Realm". Sahara brings energy, animation, and eagerness to every performance, along with a hunger for knowledge, a passion for performing, and a hard work ethic. Sahara is excited to continue growing her passion for singing, and sharing beautiful and important stories.
